Ozzy…..one of the Godfathers of Metal. I still remember the first time I heard Black Sabbath. I was about five years old, sitting in front of one of my dad’s stereo speakers. He was playing some of his albums (remember those???), and I told him I wanted to hear something LOUDER. So, good old dad slaps on Black Sabbath’s first record. He plays the song Black Sabbath. DAMN!!!! The intro was actually scary for a child. Then the huge sinister riff comes in….and after that this voice starts singing about the devil and shit. Oh my god, it made a lasting impression on me. I kept asking my father to play that record. I loved it. As I grew older, I bought my own Sabbath tapes, all of them. Later, I got into Ozzy’s solo work. This was different than Sabbath, but it still rocked….especially with Randy on guitar. That damn voice is just so original. I love it. I can’t wait to see him at Ozzfest. His free ticket idea – I don’t think anyone has done something like this for a whole tour. He is one of the best metal singers, not because he has an incredible range or anything like that. I think it is because he is an original. His unique voice and his attitude have set him apart from a lot of others. I also love Ozzy because he is not a quitter. He has had many horrible things happen to him throughout his life. He always seems to come through. I give him a lot of credit for being a survivor. Keep the faith, Ozzy!!!

station: The Brew 105.7
I have been an Ozzy fan since the album Black Sabbath, with all the old stuff. NIB is one of my favorites. I’m very fortunate to have seen Ozzy with Randy Rhoads at the Veterans Memorial here in Columbus right before he died . That was the Crazy Train tour. It was amazing to see the chemistry they had and I had tickets to see them at the Fair Coliseum when I heard on the radio he died and the concert was on hold. It was good to hear Ozzy was safe and he still kept the tour going. Ozzy is a legend and his music and voice will never be matched. His darkside is awesome and I am lucky to have seen him 5 times and watch him grow as one of the best left to represent true rock and roll. He brings back the young years to me of being crazy and going to 3 concerts a month. I was 12 when I first saw him and 38 when I saw him last. I hope I see him again. OZZY RULES!

i have seen Ozzy more times than I can remember. I have every CD & tape he put out. Ozzy is the master of metal. I have a bat tattoo on my arm with the bat holding Oz in the claws. My license plates have Ozzy on them which are on a black truck for the prince of darkness. I have all kinds of Ozzy merchandise in my room. My wife tells me I am fanatic. I have my kids listening to Ozzy also. I have been listening to Ozzy since I was fourteen now I am thirty seven and I’m still rocking to Ozzy every day. Ozzy is the prince of darkness and Ozzy rules the metal !

I am a 50 year old metal head who is always crankin’ the tunes that pisses of my neighbors. And how could I be a metal head without the godfather of metal..Ozzy Osbourne? He is the one that started it all. From his great Sabbath days, to his reign as metal king in the 80’s….I just love all of his work. And to have something autographed by him, that would be a dream come true. Along with the CD, I would be forever grateful for what you have done her e with the House of Hair. You are carrying the flag for real metal, and I thank you for it. I deserve to win this contest because I know I am the ultimate Ozzy fan, and if you met me, you would think no different.

I LOVE OZZY for many reasons, but the two that stand out the most to me are, 1. I was at a concert on what we used to call City Island here in Harrisburg I was very young at the time not even a teenager yet and I heard Ozzy’s music being played on the PA system before the bands came on and he just BLEW ME AWAY I vowed that I would see him in concert and try to own every song he ever recorded. I don’t believe I own every song, but I have been Lucky enough to see him twice as Ozzy and once as Ozzy Lead singer of Black Sabbath and let me tell you what if I would have died at those concerts I would have died Happy because he delivers a GREAT SHOW. The second reason I LOVE OZZY so much is because he showed me no matter what they say no matter what you look like and no matter what you do, if you try and try and try again you will make it. They told him he wouldn’t make it as a Rock star and he is a Rock God they told him he could not be part of lalapuluza and thank god they did because Thanks to their IGNORANCE we have OZZFEST the BEST ROCK SHOW AROUND. So if I win or not it doesn’t matter as much as sharing my LOVE of OZZY The HIGHS and the lows of the MAGIC MUSIC he makes is the BEST. Thank you for the chance to voice my thoughts. P.S. Dee Snyder keep ROCKIN us with the Ho use of Hair it makes a weekend in this small town tolerable. Thanks Brother.

I love Ozzy and only Ozzy because he tells it like it should be. From all his songs you can tell that he cares alot about the world and the shit that is wrong with it. If people would listen to the words in his songs they would maybe be a little nicer to everyone around them and a little nicer to the world as a whole. Ozzy doesn’t care too much about what people think, he just tells them how he feels. He talks a lot about love in the world. This makes me love Ozzy even more, I love his music because it makes me rock out and get pumped up. But if you listen to his lyrics, they really make you think and they encourage people to be nicer and to love more in the world. I think that if everyone in the world was like Ozzy, the world would be a lot safer, people would help one another and treat everyone the way they would want to be treated. Ozzy is the best because he is the way everyone should be, Thank GOD for Ozzy Osbourne. Ther e are two people I would like to meet, one is dead, and he was the son of God. He would have been amazing to meet. To hear His voice and see loving eyes would have stopped people from killing other people. The other person I’d like to meet is Ozzy, he I think is misunderstood by the general public, but all in all I think he is a fantastic person who should be listened to by everyone that can hear him, if people followed the words in his songs and thought about what he was talking about things would be better for everyone. Ozzy live on forever! Derek the Destroyer

Because he’s the prince of FXcking Darkness, that’s why! Ozzy and The rest of the guys from Sabbath (Toni, Geezer, and Mr. Bill Ward) Pioneered and paved the way for the sound of music today. If “OZZY ZIG” didn’t get his “Gig” and Sabbath was never formed who knows what kind of God-awful space-moon music we’d be listening to today. It’d be crap. That’s for sure. Everything would probably sound like Hansen.. Thank GOD FOR THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS.. p.s. I have 300$ worth of Ozzy tats done on my leg and a Tattoo of Zakk Wyldes BLACK LABEL SOCIETY on my shoulder. AND THAT’S WHY I LOVE OZZY!!!!!! when god said let there be Rock, Ozzy simply replied “Thank you good night, we love you all”!!!!

I am 45 years old and listen to HOH every Saturday night. I have been a OZZY fan since Black Sabbath. In 1984 I took my 6 month old daughter to get his autograph at Peaches Records in Indianapolis. Because he had been touring and was missing his own daughter, Kelly, he was very taken by Brandy and took her from my arms and stopped the signing long enough to hug her and give her a kiss on the cheek. The newspaper asked, ” Why didn’t you bite her head off?” I thanked him, He thanked me and I walked off with my autographed “Bark At The Moon” album and my Daughter, which I still cherish BOTH today. Keep up the good work Dee. Mike

I started Listening to Ozzy when I was 12 years old. My first cassette was Bark at the Moon. I remember the day I got it in the mail I was home sick from school that day. I remember that I puked after I listened to it. I have been an Ozzy fan ever since. I listened to Ozzy everyday from that day on. I am married now with 3 kids and my 2 boys like to listen to metal with their old man. My second son was born on December 3, the same day as Ozzy, my wife vetoed my idea for a name but that’s ok you have to choose your battles. Why do I love Ozzy simple, listening to Ozzy is my escape from reality, It takes me back to the care free days of headbanging with all of my buddies and running from the cops when we were in trouble! I will always be an Ozzy fan as well as all metal. Thanks Dee for all of the great memories that you bring back with the House of Hair. Ken Wasson P.S. STRANGELAND 2 ???

The Chain Of Command goes Ozzy, Lemmy, then God! I have a shrine with candles, headless bats and doves, and incense (with maybe even a little bit of blood) under my Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads silk tapestry. I even have a plastic Ozzy figure on the front of my Harley! I still have my Black Sabbath Reunion Tour tickets to the Salt Lake City show they cancelled. I never returned them to get my money back, even though the cancelled show was 9 years ago. I’m a 38 year old, long haired, tattooed, Harley ridin’, driving the ol’ lady crazy when I crank it up, “swallowing the colors of the sounds I hear”, old school rocker! NOBODY RULES BUT OZZY!

11. J. Lane

station: 93.3 KDKB
I was about 7 years old when I first heard Ozzy coming from my older sisters room. I didn’t know who or what it was but I knew I loved it. The first song I ever hear d from Ozzy was “Mr. Crowley”. He was my introduction into metal and the reason I started to play music. I never missed an Ozzy show in Phoenix since the “Retirement Sucks tour”. I have a shrine to Ozzy that consists of posters, toys, newspaper clippings, clothes, picks, and other swag. Ozzy was a “hero” of mine as well. He showed me that if I work hard towards my dreams I can achieve them. And that no matter how hard life is it is worth living.

the myth, the legend, the excess. ozzy is metal, great bands have come and gone, but there are only a handful of icons that have lasted the test of metal and time. ozzy is quite possibly the godfather of metal, the man that started the 80s metal revolution. and 25 years later he is still releasing great metal material. when you see him in concert, he still goes all out, he still demands your attention and receives it. yes age is creeping in on our ozzy, but no matter what the future brings, ozzy ozbourne is the epitome of the metal movement.

Dear Dee, Way back in 1983 my husband and I first met. Our first official date was a “MONSTERS OF ROCK” tour. He couldn’t believe I loved the music. Then he took me home with him and I immediately went to his record albums. I selected “Black Sabbath”=2 0by Black Sabbath and cranked it to 11!! He was totally enthralled as I sang along to every song. We fell in love with each other, with Ozzy as our background. Skip 18 years into the future, we’re still in love and still listening to the Oz man. Lo and behold we become parents. It is awesome. Two years back my son and I bought the Ozzy boxed set “Prince of Darkness” for his Papa. We didn’t play it when he was awake because we didn’t want to damage his ears. It is best at top volume. Then one day our son noticed the bonus DVD in the box , put it on, and I’m telling you our 4 year old went ape-shit. He kept making everyone be quiet and replayed it over and over until we took the remote away. Now we play it in front of him, usually his choice now. It’s in his blood. And ours. So thanks Dee for Keeping our music alive for future generations like our little rocker. IF IT AIN’T METAL , IT’S CRAP!!!! Thanks from Eileen in Gainesville

I have grown up listening to Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. I h ave met Ozzy once before. My girlfriend got tickets to The Jimmy Kimmel Live Show in May out in LA, and we drove all the way from Illinois to California just so I could see him. As you can tell I would cross the country to see him live. I own every album he has ever put out and every album he put out with Black Sabbath. I have never missed an Ozzfest or Ozzy concert. The funny thing is, I was given the nickname Ozzy because I look like him in many ways. So, if I win this contest, it would be an honor for me since I am his biggest fan.

Ozzy’s been a friend of mine. Not a close, personal friend, but the friend on the radio who keeps me company when I’m otherwise alone. When things are strange, and life is messed, there is always an Ozzy song that fits. I can listen to him hour after hour and day after day. Every time I hear the music, the lyrics, the songs, I hear something different. Ozzy’s music never gets old, it’s always got something to say to me, in one way or another. Ozzy’s rocked me out in good times, and made me feel sane when I was going off the rails of my own crazy train. Easily the best of the best, he’s Ozzy!

I love Ozzy for reasons far too numerous to count. I first heard Ozzy with Sabbath when I was 6. I’m now 36 – that’s 30 years. If it weren’t for his songs I would have killed myself. A permanent solution to a temporary problem. Ozzy has been such an influence in my life and in the lives of many. I became a true Metalist when I became an Ozzy and Sabbath fan. He was my breakthrough. I truly would have gone nuts if it weren’t for songs like Sweet leaf, Over the mountain, Crazy train, Goodbye to romance, Bark at the moon, Sabbath bloody Sabbath, etc. I learned that there is more to life than meets the eye. For instance we are so not “monkey People’ but are celestial beings having a human experience. I learned how to love and forget how to hate, how over the mountain take me to the other side, how we don’t need astrology it is indeed inside of you and me…Rock-n- roll-heavy metal is my gospel, my religion, and my love….It’s a way of life. It keeps me centered, sane, open to evolve and strong when this world ,this reality beats me down. I thank Ozzy and God for keeping me alive, awake, and in a constant state of spiritual evolution. Ozzy is a blessing in my life because we are both “crazy” in our honesty. They call everyone who has ever “gone against the grain crazy .Supposedly Abraham Lincoln, Einstein, Ghandi, Kennedy every great scientist, philosopher, writer, artist, poet, revolutionary, genius has been labeled crazy at one time or another, even Christ was crazy. It pisses me off to no end that people call Mr. Osbourne crazy evil etc because he’s entirely opposite he’s a genius. Ozzy is sacred to me for so many reasons but most of all because he’s inspired so many artist, his lyrics have saved so many people from perpetuating what truly does not exist “mental illness” If everyone who has heard voices and had visions stigmatized by those kinds of label we wouldn’t ever have physics, visionaries, musicians, doctors, prophets poet. Thank you Ozzy for paving the way of generations to come. I shall smoke a fat one in your honor…Much love + infinite blessings=Rock-on LOUD+PROUD=Always*Sweet Leaf*the original Sin Virginia Magdelene ps I could write a whole book about how Mr. Osbourne has inspired me and what his work means to me*tears no more!!!!….

Why I love his OZZNESS well he has made me the person I am today, on my 13th birthday I received my first metal album It was OZZY Diary Of A Madman and I was hooked I loved it and I loved metal next it was AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Saxon, and I can’t forget Twisted Sister. I am now 38 and still a big metal head I love it all but Ozzy will always be my favorite every time he comes I go see him every new album I must have, I don’t know what I would be doing now if It wasn’t for ozzy but I do know life is good with him. They call Ozzy the God Father of Rock and for me this is true he in a way is the father of me being a metal head. And I couldn’t Dream of a better life.

Back in the early 80’s, it wasn’t easy being a fan of metal here in a town dominated by Bob Jones University. Hell, back then even the Methodists were handling snakes. It was a miracle that we ever had any metal shows come to town….Dee and his boys made an stop…I still remember parts of that show! Well anyway, Ozzy was here on the Ultimate Sin or Bark at the Moon tour and the security guards were being assbags. After the show, some local news prick shoved a mike in Ozzys face and the Prince of Darkness just exploded on him telling the news guy that we were kids and to leave us the fuck alone. I’ve loved that motherfucker ever since. Then in the 90’s, Sharon had an on-air showdown with some Bob Jones people that were trying to stop a show in Greenville and were using the same tired lies that they’ve always told. Dude, that woman kicked their asses! “You can’t kill rock and roll” on Diary of a madman says it all. The metal guys did it their way for better or worse and I will always respect people for doing it their way. There are way too many followers out there in popular music now. Metal will be back…..motherfuckers. So take your tape recorders and samples and fucking white bread bullshit emo hoodies and shove ’em up your ass! I love you all as long as you love metal! fuckin’ regards, McCoyBoy

There are so many reasons why I love Ozzy, so i’ll try my best to explain it to you guys. To me, Ozzy is Heavy Metal……PERIOD!!. There is no debate on that one. If it wasn’t for Black Sabbath and Ozzy himself, there probably wouldn’t be bands like Metallica, Slayer, Kiss, etc, etc. I mean, at the time, the early 1970s, bands like Led Zeppelin, Clapton, The Doors were ruling the music scene…..So when Ozzy, a simple small town British born boy from Birmingham, England formed Black Sabbath and came from outta nowhere with this new form of music called “Metal”, and yes, on that day, Heavy Metal was born. Ozzy truly is the “Godfather Of Heavy Metal”. His voice, his lyrics, his whole lifestyle is the essence of Metal Music. No matter what kind of mood I am in, I just listen so some Ozzy, and I feel like a million bucks!!!. And he was one of the few Metal singers that had the balls to stand up to the fatcat politicians when they tried to shut him and his music down when his solo career was just taking off. For almost 40 years, Ozzy, after all he has endured, still rocks!!!!!!. He is without a doubt one of the greatest performers in music, and is a Metal God!!!!!!!
