Queensrÿche (the version featuring singer Todd La Torre at the mic) has completed initial filming of a mini movie called Queensrÿche: Ad Lucem. The short will feature the songs “Spore”, “Midnight Lullaby”, “A World Without” and “X2” from the band’s recently released self-titled album, which will provide the score to a 10+ minute dramatic story.

Says La Torre of the film, “We decided to take a different approach with this video, which is comprised of four pieces of music from our latest self-titled release, ‘Queensrÿche’. It’s a conceptual mini-movie music video that invites the audience to scratch beneath the surface a bit, rather than the usual ‘chewed food’ that so many are used to being fed. We really wanted to deviate from a performance type of video so the music and storyline could be the main focus. The overall theme of the song ‘Spore’ is one that deals with personal demons, relationship struggles, career pressures, personal/professional morals and ethical dilemmas. These are issues we all face on some level and the video touches upon them all. ‘Midnight Lullaby’ / ‘A World Without’ deals with the loss of a mother during childbirth, leaving a father as a single parent and struggling to move forward through the turmoil. ‘’X2′, though it opens up our album, provides for a nice outro to it all. The end result is a roller coaster of emotion in an effort to find a healthy resolve.

Given our history, we feel that this multifaceted conceptual video, along with a great cast of actors to suit, will really resonate with our fans.” BuzzChic’s brain hurts just reading this!

Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell sat down for an interview with the UK-based Lymphoma Association to talk about his diagnosis (earlier this year) of Hodgkins lymphoma. He’s been receiving chemotherapy treatments since April.

Okay, so we’d like to hear this in Ozzy Osbourne’s actual words, but his wife, Sharon, says he’s completely bowled over by the “beauty” and “aura” of pop star Taylor Swift. Apparently, the rocker met her for the first time last weekend while shopping in New York City, and Sharon later gabbed about it on her talk show, The Talk. “He was so blown away with her beauty and the aura that she projects,” gushed Sharon. “He said to me, ‘I have finally met somebody that I can say is a true superstar.’ He said, ‘She reminds me of Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn.’ He called her the most magnificent young girl he’s met in his lifetime. He was so blown away by her.”

Wanna smell like L.A. Guns frontman Phil Lewis? He’s concocted a new custom fragrance he calls Gypsy using oils infused with frankincense, citrus, and Egyptian patchouli and more, forming a “unique and distinctive scent for men or women with gypsy in their soul.” Says Phil about his new fragrance, “This formula was created for my own personal use and perfected over many years to the version I wear today. For the first time, I’ve acquired a small set of limited edition bottles for Gypsy. A little goes a long way with these potent oils – just a small dab is enough for all day. Each 4ml (1/8 oz) black glass vial is adorned with a double-sided Gypsy by Phil Lewis guitar pick label on a silver plated chain, nestled in a black velvet gift pouch. The first 10 bottles will receive the special white fleur de lis cap…I look forward to sharing my creation with all the other gypsies around the world. Cheers, Philip.” Check out more on Gypsy here.

Want the blood-stained rusty saw blade that nearly took off the arm of ex-Megadeth drummer Nick Menza (and who wouldn’t, right?) Nick will be auctioning off the blade, along with the original x-ray of his injuries, all mounted behind museum-quality glass and personally autographed to the winning bidder. The auction goes live on October 25.

“This stuff has been on one of the walls in my studio since the accident,” says Nick. “I’m starting a new chapter of my life and career, literally, and it’s time to move on from some of that stuff in my past, but the saw blade and x-ray are pretty rad!” Nick underwent reconstructive surgery with metal plates and bolts and is once again drumming and putting out a book, Megalife: Countdown To Resurrection (release date not yet announced).

You Wanted The Best You Got The Best might already be billed as the definitive official Kiss documentary (due out next year), but you won’t be seeing co-founders Ace Frehley or Peter Criss in it. Director Alan G. Parker recently spoke to Classic Rock magazine about Ace and Peter’s decision to not be involved: “Gene [Simmons] and Paul [Stanley] were shocked at first, but now they don’t seem to be. There’s been so much bitchiness down the years, and so much said about and done to Ace and Peter that they interpreted the request to be in the movie as a favor to Gene and Paul. Because of that, they won’t go anywhere near it. The negotiations were interesting, to say the least.” Parker plans to use footage of Frehley and Criss filmed by current lead guitarist Tommy Thayer back in 2001. A wide release is planned for fall 2014.

Are BulletBoys shooting a reality show pilot for VH1? SleazeRoxx.com quoted singer Marq Torien as saying, “Today we are tracking in the studio! Also shooting a pilot for VH1 for a new reality show series! So humbling for us to be in this position in our careers! Hard work, touring, tragic states, sweat, tears, laughter, faith, fears, fortitude, broken hearts, and trust has kept this band going… Don’t EVER give up!! Always keep fighting!!!”

David Lee Roth is gearing up to release a new CD/DVD set called Greatest Hits/The Deluxe Edition on November 19. The set will include Diamond Dave favorites from Crazy From The Heat, Eat ‘Em And Smile, Skyscraper and more. David personally selected and sequenced the newly remastered songs and the videos for the collection.

Y&T will be releasing Earthquake: The A&M Years 1981-85 next week (October 14). The 4-CD set features six studio albums plus B-sides and live shows.
