Hell Yes! – A new album from SLASH is here!
The World is about to get a lot hotter with WORLD ON FIRE: The new album from SLASH featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators. It comes on full throttle and in-your-face, a hunk of burning rock ‘n’ roll that takes no prisoners. It’s the follow-up to their 2012 debut, Apocalyptic Love, and it will kick your ass!
“We’ve been playing together for a while and I think it’s gotten to the point where everybody’s comfortable in their own skin,” says Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist SLASH. “It turned out to be a very easy process. We definitely had chemistry from the very first time we entered a room together. It was instantaneous magic.”
WORLD ON FIRE represents that chemistry, as SLASH, vocalist MYLES KENNEDY, bassist TODD KERNS and drummer BRENT FITZ blaze through 17 songs that run the gamut of topics; some derived from tour bus conversations between Myles & Slash. These range from the pointed sexual politics of “Battleground,” “Dirty Girl” and “Stone Blind,” the anti-war sentiments of “Dissident” the coming-of-age saga “Bent to Fly,” to such charged issues as elephant poaching in “Beneath the Savage Sun”, child abuse in the Catholic Church with “The Unholy”, addiction issues in “Wicked Stone” and the perils faced by females of a certain age in show business on “Withered Delilah”. There’s also a song inspired by Mad Men’s Don Draper called “Shadow Life” and a rockin’ instrumental “Safari Inn”.
“I was influenced by the group ethic as a kid coming up,” admits Slash. “As soon as I picked up a guitar in junior high school, I started a band. That’s the vibe I’m looking for, the interaction between musicians. Having a singer whom I know where he’s at, and writing with him in mind; my songwriting skills have gotten a lot better.”
“This is basically a happy record with some dark subject matter,” acknowledges Slash. “It ends up in a positive place, but it also leaves you with the idea not to get too comfortable.”
Bottom Line: The music is ON FIRE! Check it out on iTunes here: Slash – World On Fire

Where will Mötley Crüe wrap up The Final Tour? It may be a gig or two in Las Vegas and, naturally, their hometown of Los Angeles. “Rumor has it the last few shows are going to be Vegas and L.A., because we wanted to end in 2016 in Los Angeles where we started,” said frontman Vince Neil to Las Vegas Weekly.
“After New Year’s, we’ll do three nights at one of the arenas in L.A.,” Neil added. “And then do a special show at the Whisky a Go Go on our 35th anniversary.” Said drummer Tommy Lee to Rolling Stone in a recent interview, “We want to finish where we started. There’s talk about the Staples Centre and the Forum, though it might end with a 1 a.m. show at the Whisky. F***, we all used to live around the corner from that club.”
Added bassist Nikki Sixx, “After we take the final bow, I’m gonna drive home alone with the radio off. I’ll go past the Roxy, the Rainbow and the Troubadour. I’ll open the door to my house and be like, ‘Where did all the f***ing years go?’ Then I’ll close the door and wait for the next chapter.” Official tour dates are announced through November 22 (Spokane, WA). Check out the remaining dates here and keep it tuned for updates as they’re announced.
Watch Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx turn in a shift at a record store during the band’s recent tour date in New Jersey. Nikki went behind the counter of Vintage Vinyl, interacting with customers as “Larry,” denying who he was, using a cash register, bagging albums, failing to get CDs out of their security cases, and promoting his side band Sixx: AM’s upcoming album, Modern Vintage.

SWEET TWEETS

What SONG Was That?!
From HOH listener Chelsea in Portland, OR:
Hello, I am wondering what song was playing tonight [9/7] around 8:30 here in Portland on KFBW? I caught some of the lyrics, and the song seemed to be titled “End of Days,” or at least that was the main lyrics in the song I could hear. Something like, “I’m at the end of my days, and I’m going to change my ways”….I hope this is enough to help, ‘cause I have tried looking it up based on those lyrics and can’t find the right song, I need help!!! Much appreciated.
BuzzChic responds: Well, Chels, you had it right…just slip in a rock n’ roll Z and you’ve got “At The End Of My Daze” by Trouble. You’re welcome! And don’t forget — you can view the HOH playlists right here every, single, headbangin’ week!!
