Axl Rose Takes Legal Action Over “Fat Axl” Unflattering Image
Guns N’ Roses and AC/DC vocalist Axl Rose wants the unflattering photo of him in the “Fat Axl” memes removed from the internet.
TorrentFreak reports that Rose has filed a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown notice, asking Google and other web firms to remove the photo from the web entirely.
The image was taken in 2010 by photographer Boris Minkevich of the Winnipeg Free Press at a Guns N’ Roses show at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada, and has been widely used as an internet meme making fun of the vocalist’s bloated appearance. When contacted by TorrentFreak, Minkevich confirmed he did take the photo but had no idea that Rose was trying to “cleanse the web” of that particular image.
So far, Google hasn’t complied with the requests to remove the images and all remain up and accessible. That may be because Google believes that Axl Rose doesn’t own the photo and that the copyrights sit with Minkevich and/or the Winnipeg Free Press.
Clearly Axl Rose thinks otherwise but as pointed out by Minkevich to TorrentFreak, the images being targeted are definitely infringing, although perhaps not in the way Axl might’ve hoped.
“Either way that photo was stolen off our website with no permission granted by the Winnipeg Free Press,” he concludes.
BuzzChic understands Axl’s pain, but can’t stop ROFL at some of these…
Axl Rose Teases Possible New Music with Guns N’ Roses and Angus Young
Axl Rose‘s twin tours with AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses appears to have sparked something creatively.
“We are working on new stuff,” the busy frontman says in a new talk at the China Exchange in London. “I’ve got a lot of stuff together, and I played some stuff for [reunited Guns N’ Roses bandmates] Slash and Duff [McKagan], and they liked it. … [AC/DC guitarist] Angus [Young] and I are talking about working together.”
What he won’t be doing, apparently, is channeling these new songs into his own album – despite not having released an album with Guns N’ Roses since 2008’s Chinese Democracy. Rose says he’s not leaning toward work on a long-awaited solo debut. “No, not really – unless it was instrumental soundtrack stuff,” he said.
Rose will ultimately play 22 shows with AC/DC, as he continues filling in for the ailing Brian Johnson. He took over between Guns N’ Roses’ on-going dates after Johnson was sidelined with a serious hearing issue.

Final Day Of ROCK AM RING Festival Canceled After Dozens Injured By Lightning
The third day of Germany’s sold out Rock Am Ring festival was canceled after dozens of people were injured by lightning strikes over the weekend.
At least 80 fans were hurt after heavy thunderstorms plagued the festival site Friday night, with one person having to be resuscitated after lightning hit the event. That man remained in the hospital, according to the German Red Cross.
Performances at the event were suspended on Saturday during another thunderstorm, forcing many of the 92,000 fans at the open-air event to shelter in cars and tents. Organizers vowed to resume the open-air event the next day but ended up canceling it after local authorities revoked the festival’s license to ensure the safety of fans.
Black Sabbath was due to close the event with a headline set.
Last year, at least 33 people were injured when lightning struck the Rock Am Ring festival twice.
Ozzy Osbourne Says Marital Split is Not a Publicity Stunt
Radar Online has incurred Ozzy Osbourne’s wrath by running a quote from Stephen Machat, a man described in its report as his “former manager.” “I would put money on a publicity stunt. They’re on a Black Sabbath tour. She would do this in a minute. It’s propaganda,” he’s quoted as saying. “Sharon is clever enough to make a story that the press would read, so all of a sudden he becomes relevant again.”
Stranger things have definitely happened in rock ‘n roll publicity. But while Osbourne declined to specifically address the allegations, he has offered a stern rebuttal saying Machat was never actually his manager — and claiming the two hardly even know one another.
“For the record, Mr. Machat NEVER managed me nor was he employed by me in any capacity at any time in my career,” reads an update posted on Osbourne’s Facebook account. “His representation of this is a categorical lie. I met him when he was hanging around the music industry in the early ’80s, but haven’t seen him in at least 30 years. He’s a sad delusional relic from the ’80s.” said Ozzy.
Iron Maiden Release New “Death Or Glory” Video + Peek Inside “Ed Force One”
Iron Maiden have issued a video for the track “Death Or Glory” complete with footage from their world tour in support of 2015’s The Book Of Souls.
The clip opens with a look at the band’s Ed Force One Boeing 747 as piloted by singer Bruce Dickinson before mixing concert shots from the trek, which launched in February.
Iron Maiden will close next weekend’s Download festival with a Sunday headline slot on the Main Stage, marking the group’s only UK show of 2016.
This week, Maiden also released a another video featuring frontman Bruce Dickinson that offers a peak at the interior of the band’s Ed Force One plane.
Pilot Dickinson offered staff a guided tour of the aircraft. Explaining the custom graphics, attendant uniforms and branded accessories on the plane, he admits Ed Force One is a “flying billboard” and, “It’s the way to cause a fuss when you arrive.”
He adds: “Honestly, it’s such a beautiful aeroplane. It allows us to do a European itinerary on an inter-continental basis. It’s our time machine, our magic carpet.”
BuzzChic from now on is going to say “aeroplane” instead of “airplane.” It’s sooooo… Metal!
Fans to Come Together to Celebrate Motörhead Day in London
Motörhead Day is scheduled for July 20 in London, England.
Organizer John Bingham says: “20th July has been chosen as it was their first date at the Roundhouse in 1975, hence the venue in Camden. We are meeting at 3PM for a drink, to play Motörhead songs and reminisce our Motörhead stories.”
Motörhead’s Mikkey Dee Says Motörhead Archive Album Unlikely
Mikkey Dee says upcoming Motörhead live DVD “Clean Your Clock” is almost certainly the last word from the band, because they don’t have much unreleased material in their archive.
The concert film was shot in Germany last year, just weeks before the death of mainman Lemmy at the age of 70.
Drummer Dee tells MetalPaths: “Motörhead did not record demo songs, so almost everything has been released. We experimented by composing the music while we were recording, for a spontaneous feel. We did it all right at the spot.
Lemmy was easy to work with in the studio – he’d write his lyrics after the music was arranged. Unusually, this time around he was first in the studio and the last to leave.”
Steve Miller Plans Investigation Of Rock Hall of Fame
Steve Miller says he plans to investigate the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
The singer and guitarist was inducted into the Rock Hall alongside Deep Purple, N.W.A, Chicago and Cheap Trick in April.
He used his acceptance speech to launch a tirade against the Rock Hall and the music industry in general, and later slammed the “murky” and “ridiculous” paperwork he would have to fill out to grant permission for his performance to be broadcast on HBO.
Now Miller says he’s putting Rock Hall organizers in the spotlight by inspecting their public documents – and he promises to make sure funding goes toward music education programs rather than lining pockets.

Blast From The Past
Check out these rare 1984 videos of Deep Purple! One video features Deep Purple’s Roger Glover and Ian Paice when they were guests on Canada’s The New Music show and another clip takes a look at Deep Purple’ s 1984 Perfect Strangers reunion. It features interviews with the band and the original press conference when the band announced to the world that they were reforming.
Amazingly, even in 1984, Deep Purple were already viewed as “five old guys on stage”. Glover didn’t see it that way, saying, “Nostalgia is great until you start earning too much money off it. Then it’s tacky. We don’t think of ourselves as an oldies band. We’re a now band.”

Metalheads Say The Damnedest Things
“It’s great. I can’t really explain it. I feel something – I feel protective, [like] I do not want to let this guy down, more than almost anybody I’ve ever met. And I don’t know why. And he’s very responsive to me. And they said they hadn’t seen him this happy; they hadn’t seen him moving around [as much before]. So that’s kind of a neat thing between musicians.”
