Ozzy Osbourne Woos Sharon Osbourne on “The Talk”
Host Sharon Osbourne got a huge surprise when her husband Ozzy Osbourne invaded the stage during last Friday’s episode of “The Talk,” interrupting her mid-sentence blaring his hit song “Crazy Train.” The rock icon beelined over to his wife of 34 years to give her a beautiful bouquet of flowers and some PDA, while the audience cheered and chanted “Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy!” “Happy Birthday darling,” he said while taking out a small ring box from his pocket, “I have another gift for you!”
The gesture comes after a tumultuous year for the couple. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Sharon had booted Ozzy out of the house over his infidelity. By July, it was revealed that the couple had been working on their marriage and that Ozzy had sought counseling for sex addiction and felt that their marriage was “back on track.”
Ozzy Has Vitamin Removed From Lung
In other Ozzy news, according to Osbourne’s son Jack, the rocker was recently admitted to a hospital in order to have a vitamin removed from his lung.
Jack told The Huffington Post U.K., “He was lying down on the couch, took a handful of vitamins and then he coughed. The pill shot into his lung, and we had to get him to the hospital to get it removed. It was a bit of a shock.”
Jack said the incident happened while he and his father were on the road shooting their Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour show for The History Channel.
Quiet Riot Name Seann Nicols New Vocalist
Quiet Riot will continue with a new voice at the helm. The band has revealed that Seann Nicols, formerly of Adler’s Appetite, will take over as their new singer starting with the band’s forthcoming album.
Nicols takes over for Jizzy Pearl, who is exiting the band to concentrate full-time on his solo career. Pearl will remain with the band through the end of the year to fulfill their existing tour dates. He exits under what appears to be good terms. “Quiet Riot thanks Jizzy for a great three years and we wish him the very best,” said the band.
Nicols is currently in the studio with the band as they record all new material. The group will also shoot a music video for one of the tracks from the forthcoming album expected in 2017, which will mark their first new video since 1989.
Quiet Riot will kick off their 2017 tour on January 27 in Medina, MN, with more dates expected to be announced soon.

Saxon Release Video of “Battering Ram” from “Let Me Feel Your Power” Live Album
Saxon have released a live video of their performance of “Battering Ram” – the title track of their 2015 album.
The clip is lifted from Saxon’s new 16 track album Let Me Feel Your Power which launched across Europe this week and will be issued in North America on October 28.
Let Me Feel Your Power features material recorded in Munich and Brighton, along with bonus material taken from a Chicago show from September 2015. It’ll be the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) veterans’ 10th live album.
Thomas Dolby Tells Crazy Eddie Van Halen Stories in New Book
In his new book, “The Speed of Sound: Breaking the Barriers Between Music and Technology,” Thomas “She Blinded Me With Science” Dolby has some pretty funny stories to tell about a weekend recording session at Eddie Van Halen’s home.
Dolby said of his day working with Eddie, “every hour of [Van Halen’s] day was like a scene from Spinal Tap.”
However, when Dolby tried to break the ice by quoting that famous “This is Spinal Tap” line about sustain to Eddie, he was met with a blank stare. When he asked if the guitarist had ever seen the famous rock music mockumentary, Eddie replied, “Yeah, dude, we saw that piece of s***.” He then went on to explain, “We didn’t think it was funny. It was like, someone followed us around with a camera, put it up on a screen, and everybody fell over laughing.”
Dolby was surprised to find that even at Van Halen’s secluded home, he had no privacy. As the pair took the short drive from Eddie’s 5150 home studio to his house in a custom-painted golf cart, Dolby “suddenly heard the honking of horns and shrill distant cries of ‘EDDIE! EDDIE! YEAH!!’ High up above his property a group of fans had parked their trucks and hot rods on a scenic overlook… and they were screaming and flashing their headlights, amazed to get an actual sighting of their favorite guitar god.”
The book is available on Amazon.

UFO and Saxon Announce 2017 U.S. Tour
UFO, with their long standing line up of Phil Mogg (vocals), Paul Raymond (keyboards / guitar), Andy Parker (drums), Vinnie Moore (guitar) and Rob De Luca (bass), are back in the US after a phenomenally successful sold out tour in early 2016. They are currently working on their 22nd studio album after the last studio release A Conspiracy Of Stars in 2015.
Saxon, Biff Byford (vocals), Paul Quinn (guitar), Nigel Glockler (drums), Doug Scarrett (guitar) and Tim “Nibbs” Carter (bass), will be promoting Battering Ram, their 21st studio effort which was released last year, together with the new double live album set Let Me Feel Your Power (due out October 28 in North America).
The tour kicks off in Houston, TX on March 9 and will run through April 2.
UFO’s Phil Mogg said, “We are polishing the guitars, cleaning up the drums, I have a new front tooth and our crew have bought themselves fresh mascara, some new tunes and an airline ticket to the U.S.A., to be joining our old pals Saxon on what will be a celebration tour of all our favorite places. Look forward to seeing you there! Kisses, UFO.”
Saxon singer Biff Byford adds, “It’s great to be back on the road with UFO. The last time we toured together was in the ‘80s so it should be fun and a unique package for the fans. See you in March. Keep the faith.”

Don Dokken: Classic Dokken Reunion “Is Never Gonna Happen Again”
The reunited Dokken – singer Don Dokken, guitarist George Lynch, bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer “Wild” Mick Brown are spending the month of October playing a handful of shows in Japan after a late September warm-up date in Sioux Falls.
“I never thought I would play with George [Lynch] again — I thought, ‘This is it,’” says Don Dokken. “They’ve been asking me for almost six years to do a reunion, and I said, ‘No, the answer is no.’”
The singer continued, “It’s not about the money. It’s not about the money, I don’t need the money. It’s not about money. I have enough money to live me two lives. It’s about the fans and the love and to play well. It’s only six days, but there’s not gonna be shows in Europe or Sweden or Germany. We have all these offers of money — they’re [offering] us a lot of money — to play Sweden, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the answer is ‘no.’ Six shows — that’s it. And it’s never gonna happen again.”
The band did film their performance in Sioux Falls, S.D. for use in a future DVD – check out the pro-shot video of the band performing their classic “Breaking The Chains” here.
However, Dokken says after the six dates the band will return to its regular lineup of Dokken and drummer Wild Mick Brown with Jon Levin and Chris McCarvill, while Lynch will return to his band Lynch Mob and Jeff Pilson will return to Foreigner.

Dave Mustaine Rips Fan for Interrupting Him During Megadeth Gig
Mustaine was in the middle of a pre-song monologue prior to the gig’s performance of “Holy Wars … The Punishment Due” when he was distracted by a member of the audience talking loud enough for him to hear from the stage. “I’m going to wait until this a–hole is done talking,” Mustaine told the cheering crowd at the Dystopia tour stop in Moline, IL.

Sharks Reportedly Love Heavy Metal and AC/DC
Sharks love heavy metal and rock music and have a particular appetite for AC/DC, according to a new book. The authors of The Mice Who Sing For Sex: And Other Weird Tales From The World Of Science claim studies show that sharks are drawn to the low frequency pulsing sounds (20-60 cycles/second) of heavy metal.
The book also claims great white sharks particularly favored the AC/DC songs “You Shook Me All Night Long” and “If You Want Blood (You Got It)”, becoming calmer and less aggressive (really?) when the tracks were played to them.
Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush Explain The Legend of “The Bag”
Rush are sharing a road story from the early days in a video from their upcoming 40th anniversary tour documentary “Time Stand Still.”
Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson reveal “The Legend Of The Bag,” which saw Lifeson dress up as ‘The Bag’ to entertain fellow band members and touring partners, including KISS.
“The Bag would just pop up every once in a while – it was just a face drawn on a big laundry bag,” explains Lifeson. “I’d make two holes for eyes and draw a stupid face on it, wear sweat pants and stick my arms through the sweat pants, so only my hands came out at the knee. And The Bag was always drunk, and really smart, and knew everything, and made a lot of suggestions to people in the room; running commentary for a few hours.”
The after-show party often ended up in KISS guitarist Ace Frehley’s room, with The Bag entertaining everyone…except Gene Simmons.
“Gene was very, very upset with The Bag,” Lifeson adds, “and that made Ace even happier.”
“Gene was straight and wasn’t high like we were,” says Lee, “so he had a different sense of reality when he came into Ace’s room. We were drinking, smoking and generally being idiots.
“Gene came in one time and there were these two girls looking at The Bag wondering, ‘Who’s that guy?’ One of them went over and tried to remove it – that was cause for immediate ejection from the hotel room, so I threw them out. Gene was very upset about that because the only reason he was in the room was there were two girls there.”
Check out the oddness, which BuzzChic is sure must have been much funnier back in the day, here.
Metalheads Say The Damnedest Things
“The sad thing in America is that we hate on people because of how they vote. You can say what you want, you’re entitled to your opinion. I have my opinions, you have yours. It’s like, ‘Dude, if we walk into a McDonalds and you get a Big Mac and I get a Quarter Pounder, I ain’t gonna hate on you.’ It’s your choice – why is it different when it comes down to who you think should run the country?”
~ Dave Mustaine of Megadeth chimes in on the political madness in the USA
