At press time, Iron Maiden was ranked at #4 in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame fan vote tally, behind Fela Kuti (!), Tina Turner and the Foo Fighters, and closely followed by Carole King. The top five artists, as selected by the public, will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2021 inductees.
If inducted, current members Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, Dave Murray, Nicko McBrain, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers will be joined by past members Paul Di’Anno, Dennis Stratton and Clive Burr (deceased).
Ex-guitarist Dennis Stratton (who remains very close with Maiden’s Steve Harris) REALLY wants you to vote, even though Bruce Dickinson was formerly quoted as saying, “Rock and roll music does not belong in a mausoleum in Cleveland. It’s a living, breathing thing, and if you put it in a museum, then it’s dead. It’s worse than horrible, it’s vulgar.” Stratton counters by stating, “I’m hoping that the fans don’t take a lot of notice ofBruce’s comments. I want Maiden to get what they deserve.”
You can visit vote.rockhall.com to cast a ballot daily. Fans will need to login to vote. Voting is capped at one ballot per day.
Iron Maiden has so many great songs. The bandages have so much talent. They need to be in the HALL OF FAME!
