Iron Maiden are 2026 Inductees!
Iron Maiden set the standard for how heavy metal bands should look, sound, and perform, as they rose to global prominence in the 1980s.
Their signature blend of galloping rhythms, twin-guitar attacks, and soaring vocals allowed them to shift seamlessly between aggression and atmosphere, creating an expansive sound that defined the genre.
Formed in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, the band broke through with their 1980 debut before reaching new heights with The Number of the Beast, featuring vocalist Bruce Dickinson.
With a classic lineup that included Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Nicko McBrain, Iron Maiden challenged the boundaries of heavy metal through a string of landmark albums while building a lasting influence on the genre.
